Complementing the performances, there will be a full range of clinics, master classes, lectures and discussions. Full details of these will be posted here soon, but here is a taster to whet your appetite.

  • Tim Reynish presents a session on new repertoire, focussing on his own recent series of commissions in memory of his son, William

  • Jon Mitchell  looks at Holst's Fugue a la Gigue

  • Mark Fonder on latest music education trends in North America and creating a great band sound

  • Brendon le Page presents a hands-on session on his Sound Start  method for teaching large groups of junior school age pupils

  • Mark Traynor looks at what the internet has to offer music teachers and provides tips on what you can get for free

  • ABRSM Jazz Flute Syllabus launch event. The new syllabus for Flute joins the existing syllabus and supporting publications for Clarinet, Alto & Tenor Sax, Trumpet and Trombone includes a wealth of new material providing a fantastic resource for teachers and students. Charlie Beale, Associated Board Lead Jazz Consultant will take delegates through the syllabus so come along, listen and be inspired! Delegates will receive a FREE jazz sampler booklet and CD containing examples of tunes from the syllabus as well as scales, aural tests and minus one tracks.
